DevStackIO is committed to making its website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. This page is our accessibility statement, describing the Site’s current accessibility status, the standard we work towards, known limitations, and how to report a barrier.

Last updated: 5 October 2026.

Scope

This statement applies to content published on www.devstackio.com, including articles, category and tag archives, the RSS feed, search results, and the informational pages of the Site, such as About and Contact.

It does not apply to tools.devstackio.com, which is a separate service with its own documentation, or to third-party websites we link to. We have no control over third-party content and cannot guarantee its accessibility.

Standard we work towards

We work towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA (World Wide Web Consortium), which corresponds closely to the requirements of the European technical standard EN 301 549 v.3.2.1. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard most widely referenced by the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and by national accessibility legislation, including the European Accessibility Act’s application of accessibility requirements to e-commerce and consumer services from 28 June 2025. DevStackIO is a free informational publication and does not sell goods or services online, so the e-commerce provisions of the European Accessibility Act do not apply to it; we adopt the same technical standard as good practice.

Current conformance status

Partially conformant. DevStackIO aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Based on a review of the Site’s templates, a sample of article pages, and a sample of the informational pages, the Site meets most Level A and Level AA success criteria. The specific points we know are not yet fully conformant are listed below.

We want to be clear about the limits of this assessment: this statement is based on our own review of the Site’s design and templates and on a sample of pages, not on a full third-party accessibility audit. We do not claim a certified conformance level, and we do not have a current external conformance report to publish.

Accessibility features of the Site

We have deliberately built the following into the Site:

  • semantic HTML with a single page title and correctly nested headings;
  • keyboard-navigable navigation, skip link, and visible keyboard focus states;
  • a text alternative for every informative image, and empty alternatives for purely decorative images;
  • text contrast designed to meet at least the 4.5:1 ratio required for Level AA body text, in both the light and dark themes;
  • support for text resizing to 200% and text spacing overrides without loss of content;
  • a layout that reflows to a 320 CSS-pixel viewport without horizontal scrolling;
  • responsive design down to small screen sizes, with no separate mobile version of content;
  • captions and transcripts for video and audio where we publish them, and descriptive link text rather than “click here”;
  • code examples with a language label and adequate contrast;
  • respect for browser and operating-system settings that reduce motion or change colour schemes.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following issues and are working on them:

  • Comment system. The comment form and the comments themselves are provided by the WordPress commenting system and are not yet fully keyboard- and screen-reader-optimised. Article content is unaffected.
  • Article code blocks. Long code samples scroll horizontally within their container. On very narrow screens this requires horizontal scrolling, which may be difficult for some users. Copy-to-clipboard controls on code blocks have keyboard focus that could be clearer.
  • Tables. Data tables inside older articles do not all use proper header markup. Complex tables in the Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy do use header rows.
  • External content. Some articles embed or link to third-party documentation, videos and repositories. Their accessibility is outside our control.

Preparing this statement

This statement was prepared by the Publisher and is reviewed when the Site’s design changes materially, at least annually, and whenever an accessibility issue is reported.

Feedback and contact information

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter a barrier, or need content in a different format, please email [email protected] and include:

  • the page or feature where you experienced the problem;
  • what the barrier is, and what you were trying to do;
  • the browser, operating system and assistive technology you were using, if relevant;
  • any suggested alternative that would work for you.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within five working days and to tell you the outcome or expected timeframe. We will do our best to resolve the barrier, or to provide the information you need in an accessible format.

Enforcement procedure

If our response to your report is unsatisfactory, or you are in the European Union, you may escalate the matter to the relevant national accessibility authority in your country. The authority responsible for accessibility enforcement in most EU Member States is listed in the European Commission’s disability and accessibility pages. Because DevStackIO is established outside the European Union, you may also contact the national authority in the Member State where you live or where you believe the barrier occurred.
